Let Slip the Witches was a 2019 collaboration with choreographer Amy Foley and Bellwether Dance Project, premiered April 4–6 at ODC Theater in San Francisco as part of an evening of four works centered on themes of resistance, identity, and feminine power. The program included three world premieres, Foley’s 2016 work Thighs and Wages, and a solo for Foley choreographed by Robert Moses. Let Slip the Witches, performed by four dancers, featured an original score by composer Ben Juodvalkis and explored ideas of female power, ritual, resistance, and collective identity. Julie W. Chang created a new visual environment of patterned light for the program, using projected imagery to support and transform the atmosphere of the four distinct dance works.
